Welcome to Counselling & Facilitation Services
I'm here for you
I'm here for you
As a counsellor I am able to listen to you in a non-judgemental environment. You will be supported and accepted for who you are. The counselling process aims to help you understand yourself better. At difficult times, talking problems through can be helpful. I offer a personal service specific to your individual needs and circumstances.
What we do?
I work with young people and children who are suffering from witnessing domestic abuse and who are experiencing anger.
The 'Story links' programme uses joint story writing and the metaphors it generates, to encourage the parent/ carer to think about their child's emotional and social well-being.It also aims to involve parent/carer in the child's learning, by encouraging them to regularly hear their child read their co-created stories at home.
The Story links project evaluation shows that the intervention:
The co-created stories have a powerful effect in several way. They serve as a reminder of the nurturing role of the parent or carer. They address issues relating to both friendship difficulties and sibling rivalry, trauma etc. They enable the child to address their anxiety through the metaphor in the story, with prominent themes that emerged being lack of friends, fear, abandonment and lack of nurture.
Some couples will want to work through the difficulties they are experiences with domestic abuse. I am here to assist. This requires both partners in the relationship to be willing and honest, as I offer a non-judgemental service and space for you both to explore the issues which are important to you.
I am flexible and can meet clients at schools, local authority buildings and other convenient places.
Adults sometimes find it difficult to talk to family and friends about how they are feeling because they want you to be OK. I offer a safe environment for us to discuss these issue which you wish to discuss. Trauma from the past can sometimes affect us when we least expect it too and this can be confusing and frightening.
I have written a programme for both couples and individual this programme enables both victims and perpetrators a better understanding of domestic abuse and how this impact on the relationship and the family. By working through the programme it can facilitate change within a relationship where as it can grow and function in a more satisfactory and productive way, individually it empowers you to make better choices for yourself and family.
